About Alexis

Age: 25

Career: After graduating from Arizona State in 2007 and spending some time in the corporate world, I decided to pursue my desire to make a difference. I began working as a Development Coordinator for Tu Nidito Children and Family Services in 2010 and can honestly say it's the best job I've ever had. Tu Nidito provides comfort, hope, and support for children whose lives have been affected by serious medical conditions or grief.

Hobbies: Wii, talking to my puppy, Googling everything, reading, hiking, dancing, camping, discovering new music, watching movies, entertaining my silly musical ambitions, travelling, spending time with family.

Favorite Food: Baked goods of almost any kind (especially the Red Velvet kind), sushi, peanut butter pretzels,
pad thai, frozen yogurt, pizza!

About Josh

Age: 27

Career: Helpdesk Specialist at Sunquest by day, audio engineer and rock 'n roller by night (and weekends). I also manage to go to school full-time.

Hobbies: Making and recording music, hiking, kayaking, fishing, camping, entertaining Alexis' silly musical ambitions, watching movies, travelling.

Favorite Food: Pizza, brownies, sushi, pie, ribs, chicken wings, bacon cheeseburgers, deviled eggs, chocolate milk, peanut butter toast!

The story of Josh and Alexis:
2001: Josh was in a band, the "Austin Powers"- inspired Uglystick, with one of Alexis' best friends, Alex. They hardly spoke back then, even when Alexis sat just a few seats behind him in Trigonometry/Pre-Calculus.

2003: Josh and Alexis became better friends through Alex, although there was still no romance. Alexis lived in Tempe for school while Josh was in Tucson. Their friendship was mostly confined to hilarious Instant Messenger chats and occasional hangouts when Alexis visited her family and friends in Tucson.

2006: Josh moved to Phoenix. Alexis still lived in Tempe for school, but aside from a couple of lunches, they rarely spent time together. Little did they know...

2007: Somehow, things clicked. Alexis moved back to Tucson and Josh did shortly after. They became close friends, spending lots of time together. They talked about everything and helped each other through life. By the time December rolled around, they realized that their close friendship was something a little more than that.

2008: On January 4, Josh took Alexis on their very first date, to see the movie "Juno."

2010: On October 29, Josh proposed. Alexis said yes.

2011: After almost four years of adventures, laughter, learning, and living, Josh and Alexis are getting married.
